Ballarat’s ‘The Goods Shed’ Launches Its Dining Hall

The much-anticipated revival of The Goods Shed in Ballarat is set to redefine the city’s culinary landscape as it unveils its Dining Hall on November 21. Award-winning developer Pellicano has transformed the historic bluestone building into a multifaceted hospitality and entertainment hub, featuring a range of exceptional dining experiences and event spaces.

Atlantic Group Presents Culinary Delights

The Atlantic Group has curated a diverse array of spaces within The Goods Shed, including the all-day dining hotspot Nolans, offering wholesome meals that showcase local producers and fresh ingredients. From salt-baked celeriac to panko-crumbed Western Plains pork neck, and Istra salami pizza, the dinner menu promises a delectable experience. For breakfast, guests can indulge in house-made labneh with soft boiled eggs, lamb chorizo with roasted tomatoes, dukkah and sourdough, or the luxurious truffle scrambled eggs with mushrooms and sourdough.

Boom Time, another creation by the Atlantic Group, is a casual Asian eatery featuring a tempting selection of dumplings and flavorful meals. Executive Chef Konstantin “Konny” Putkin, recently awarded the 2022 Australian Chef of the Year, has crafted menus that promise a delightful culinary journey.

Itinerant Spirits – A Haven for Spirit Enthusiasts

The Goods Shed also houses Itinerant Spirits, a multi-spirit destination offering rich, bold, and complex spirits. With options like Vansetter Vodka, Wayfarer Whiskey, and Gallivanter Gin, visitors can either opt for tastings or choose from an array of cocktails. The setting, adorned with marble tables surrounded by exposed brass stills, provides an elegant backdrop to showcase the distilling process.

Events Hall and More

In addition to the Dining Hall, The Goods Shed features a fabulous Events Hall with various function spaces. The Terminus Theatre hosts community events and screenings, while Lydiard Hall, with its deep textured woods and stone, serves as the ideal venue for weddings, anniversaries, corporate dinners, or birthdays. The Carriage Rooms offer versatile spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Hatem Saleh, Founder and Managing Director of Atlantic Group, expressed his excitement, stating, “We can’t wait to open the doors to these exciting new dining experiences. Our phenomenal culinary team will be showcasing the very best that Ballarat has to offer in the way of superb produce and local suppliers.”

Nando Pellicano, Managing Director of Pellicano, added, “The Dining Hall and event spaces have all been designed to create memorable experiences and to hero world-class culinary concepts, encased in a stunning heritage building. The new venues are looking fantastic and ready to host unforgettable events for the community.”
