The iconic Hotel Sorrento is set to transform the Mornington Peninsula’s dining scene with the launch of its stunning new rooftop bar and restaurant.
Inspired by the glamorous rooftop scenes of Saint-Tropez, the new venue promises panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay, blending contemporary design with the hotel’s historic charm. Director Myles Pitt describes it as something that’s been missing from the Peninsula—a versatile, year-round space that can accommodate up to 320 guests.

The Menu?
Executive Chef Beth Candy has crafted a menu celebrating regional produce, featuring:
- Small plates like focaccia with house dip
- Fresh seafood including oysters and kingfish crudo
- Pizzas ranging from classic Margherita to prawn varieties
- Sides like the Peninsula salad and grilled zucchini
The drinks list showcases local wines and refreshing cocktails, perfect for leisurely lunches that stretch into evening celebrations.

More Than Just a Bar
The rooftop isn’t just about dining. With live music, local and guest DJs, and a design that draws inspiration from Italian photographer Willy Rizzo, it’s set to become a destination in its own right.
“We’re proud to introduce guests to our Rooftop, a unique open-air, versatile space that has been designed for year-round comfort, allowing guests to take in some of the best views the Peninsula has to offer. We feel like an offering like the Rooftop is what has been missing from the Peninsula, so we’re excited to be bringing it to Sorrento locals and visitors alike,” said Pitt.
Designed by Six Degrees Architects, the space features sandstone tiles, repurposed timber, and a fully retractable roof – ensuring comfort in any season.
