A New Food Festival Launches in the Yarra Valley This November

The Yarra Valley’s food and wine scene will take centre stage at the Road to Food Discovery Festival, a brand-new event set to kick off on Saturday, 9 November at the picturesque CherryHill Orchards in Coldstream. This one-day festival, hosted by Warburton Valley CEDA, promises a feast for the senses as it brings together the region’s top growers, producers, and artisans for a day of family fun, food, and local culture.

The event also marks the official start of the highly anticipated cherry-picking season, where visitors can get a firsthand taste of Yarra Valley’s famous cherries, straight from the orchard.

A Showcase of Yarra Valley’s Best

With a lineup of top local producers like Rayner’s Orchard, Millgrove Dairy, Silva Coffee, and Yarra Valley Gourmet Foods, the festival offers an exclusive opportunity for visitors to meet the faces behind the food. Not only will you be able to sample fresh, locally grown produce, but you’ll also be supporting the community by purchasing directly from these passionate producers, boosting the region’s local economy.

Fun for the Whole Family

The Road to Food Discovery Festival has something for everyone. Foodies can indulge in gourmet offerings, award-winning wines, and immersive activities like a scone-making masterclass with Mary Eats Cake, a cooking demo by Balgownie Estate, and a jam-making workshop from Rayner’s Orchard. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s even a wine and chocolate pairing experience featuring Balgownie Wines and Cuvee Chocolate.

Entertainment will be plentiful, with live music by Glen Wee providing the soundtrack for a day of family-friendly fun. You can also explore market stalls brimming with fresh local produce, handmade crafts, and unique regional goods. Be sure to try CherryHill Orchards’ signature cherry ice cream and refreshing cherry beverages, available from their on-site store.

Affordable Fun for All Ages

With adult tickets priced at just $5 (including a $5 voucher redeemable on-site) and free entry for kids, the Road to Food Discovery Festival offers an affordable way to enjoy a memorable day out in the stunning Yarra Valley.
