Phillip Island Will Be Home to a New Brewery and Distillery

Victorian holiday hot spot Phillip Island will be home to a new brewery and distillery, with a 120-seat bar as well as a restaurant. The new venue will be built on the Rhyll foreshore following investment from the Victorian government to the tune of $1.2M.

Given its location, the new Phillip Island brewery and distillery will have views of Western Port Bay and a ‘brewery theatre’ that will allow punters to watch the brewing process. The construction project will create 55 new jobs, and once open the brewery will create 20 new jobs for the area. Investment for the project will come from the government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund.

“This is such welcome news for Phillip Island to expand its offerings and experiences and I’m thrilled that this fund has enabled this project to get off the ground—great investment, great for our local economy and great for our locals and visitors alike.” said Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale.

The facility will also be able to host a range of events including masterclasses with guest brewers and distillers and will serve a range of season craft beer, and spirits. The restaurant’s menu will focus on the best local produce the Phillip Island region has to offer.

Phillip Island’s new brewery and distillery is expected to open in 2023.
