After being cancelled due to the pandemic in 2021, the Kyabram Rodeo—one of Australia’s longest-running rodeos—is back this Labour Day long weekend. Established in 1946, the Kybram Rodeo is held annually on the Friday of the Labor Day weekend and forms a trifecta of rodeos with events in Merrijig, and Chiltern following over the long weekend.
At Kyabram Rodeo you can catch horse, and bull riding, along with barrel racing, team roping, kids events, and a local steer ride with events running from 7pm until 10pm. There’s also a sideshow alley at the event with tons of food and drink options, as well as a mechanical bull to test yourself on.
If the local steer ride takes your fancy, you can register on the night at the show society office between 5:30pm and 6pm, it’ll cost you $20 to give it a crack.
